CREATIVE THOUGHTS, the brain-child of 11-year old Anjana Palepu, put up its first show recently at the Dr. Rajendra Prasad Memorial Hall.
The group of 11 children, between 5 and 11 years gave an hour-and-a-half long song and dance performance, each child clinching its exclusive moment in the limelight.
Most of the songs were written, and composed by Anjana and her nine-year old sister and played by the elder sister on the keyboard.
There were unusual songs on animal and bird themes rabbit, crocodile, penguin, eagle, giraffe, hippo and panda songs, each one different. However, three of the songs deserve special mention.
The crocodile song is about a young crocodile, which refuses to eat and learns its lesson the hard way. This song would touch a chord in every mother's heart whose child is a fussy eater.
The snake song was so well choreographed that the audience could actually feel the presence of a snake.
The giraffe song is about self-esteem and accepting yourself for what you are.
The enthusiasm of the children drew their mothers into the production as well, helping with costumes and props, which were all simple and innovative. Neeraja executed the artwork.
Eleven-year old Gautam put up a good show as a magician, while a few other children showed their gymnastic skills.
Creative Thoughts will be on show at the Taj Coromandel on March 2 and is sponsored by People for Animals.
