INDIA INTERNATIONAL Centre presents a special focus on Johann Sebastian Bach this Monday with a lecture-demonstration by pianist Justin McCarthy with Matumbni Miki. It will seek to clarify some elementary points on the nature and form of the well -tempered clavier as well as focus on historical considerations, compositional processes and philosophical aspect of this music. The show will take place at 6-30 p.m.in the auditorium.

The entire second volume comprising 24 preludes and 24 fugues will be played by Justin McCarthy at 6-30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Khalil Gudaz, a disciple of sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan will present a sitar recital today at 7 p.m. As part of the HCL musical series Shubra Desai will present a musical concert of khayals and songs in praise of women saints at 7 p.m. this coming Tuesday.

Ragranjani will present a Hindustani classical vocal recital by Som Tiwari at 7 p.m. this coming Friday. This will be followed by the documentary film "Windows to Saura Art'' on the Saura Tribal Art. In a special concert, Gayatri Sankar, an upcoming visually-impaired artiste, will present a Carnatic classical music vocal recital this coming Friday at India International Centre at 6-30 p.m.

The French Film Festival will see the screening of the film "La Separation'' this coming Friday. To be screened at the Embassy of France Auditorium at 6 p.m.a and 8 p.m., the film is a tale of two separations. Directed by Christian Vincent, the film stars Isabelle Huppert, Daniel Auteuil, Jerome Deschamps and Karvin Viard.

Screened at the Habitat Film Club today will be the French film Tchao Pantin at 7 p.m. On the occasion of Mahashivratri, a film based on a part of Taittariya Upanishad from Yajurveda, devised and presented by C.V.Gopinath will be screened at India Habitat Centre at 4 p.m. this coming Tuesday.


Timm Rautert's photographs go on display at Max Mueller Bhavan this coming Thursday

The Habitat Film Club is holding a festival of thespian Dilip Kumar's films this week. Screened on Tuesday will be the classic "Mashaal'' at 7 p.m. Wednesday will see the screening of the timeless `Mughal-e-Azam' while on Thursday it will be `Ganga Jamuna' and `Karma' on Friday.

Screening this coming Friday as part of the Japanese film festival is ''Art and Love'' at 6 p.m. at the Embassy of Japan, 32 Ferozeshah Road.

As part of the Bharat Rang Mahotsav to be staged this coming Sunday will be the play Robin Das's `Anamdas ka Potha' at Kamani auditorium at 6-30 p.m., `Manto...Ismat Haazir Hai' at Abhimanch at 7 p.m., Kannada play `Chitrapata' at Sanmukh at 7 p.m..

On at Meghdoot at 7-30 p.m. will be `Zanriah Ei Hmain' from Mizoram while it will be `Ek Mouthi Maut' from Mauritius at Vikrishtamadhyam at 7-30 p.m.


Kisise' will be staged at India Habitat Centre this coming Wednesday

Anant, An Association for Nascent Art and Natural Theatre will stage the play `Kisse' at the basement auditorium of India Habitat Centre, Lodhi road this coming Wednesday. at 7-15 p.m. The Natkhat group will stage the play ''Maya Thage Banaras Ko'' this coming Saturday at India Habitat Centre at 7 p.m. Also presented by the Kalapi group around the same time will be the Bengali play `Graha Pravesh' by Anil Mukherjee. Sunday will see the same group staging the play`Bilwamangal'.

The Natkhat group will stage a repeat show of their play around the same time.
