Entrepreneurs in the making

THE ENTHUSIASM of the students charged the atmosphere while their business acumen was brought to the fore. At the 68 stalls put up at "Sankalp Vyapaar", the annual bazaar organised recently by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell of the MOP Vaishnav College for Women, a wide variety of items were on display and sale... handicrafts, clothes, paintings, food items and gift articles. Not just that, there were fortune telling, mehndi sessions and some fun-filled games to add that extra pep to the atmosphere. The mela was inaugurated by Qudsia Gandhi, IAS and CMD, Tamil Nadu Corporation and Development for Women (TNCDW). Ms. Gandhi was of the opinion that the salesmanship of the students could be utilised for the training activities that the TNCDW was involved in. The bazaar attracted a large number of visitors and the turnover was put at approximately Rs 3,00,000.

With the stalls making profits each year, the Sankalp Vyapaar is a much-awaited event for the students of the college.
