Can be missed

Nivas and Shikha Sinha

Chelia Chelia Chirukopama

Cast: Nivas, Shikha Sinha

Dir: K. Sai Shyam

A CASE of love at first sight -- never mind if it is one-sided -- and the innumerable attempts by the boy to woo the girl is what forms the beginning of the film.

The lead pair, Nivas and Shikha, incompatible specially in looks, are brought together to play the main roles. Nivas is thin and boyish, looking forlorn always, while the girl Shikha looks older for the character she plays. There are half a dozen students, hovering around the hero. Their objective is to unite their friend with the girl he comes across in a temple and falls for her. When the boy musters courage and proposes to the girl, she rejects him outright. She turns him away every time he approaches her. She then moves to another city to join her father (Ahuti Prasad). The hero follows her there as well, and continues to pursue her until she relents. The rest of the movie moves on predictable lines.

The film is touted as a musical, just because the heroine is a singer. The artistes are miscast and this harms the narration . The college campus scenes are repulsive.

Nivas has no role at all except for expressing his love . Shikha is also a poor choice to play the so called heroine. Character actors do well but are of no use here.
