So much for a smooch!

EKTA KAPOOR'S Kutumb and Kkusum have dropped out of the top ten shows slot in the last two AC Nielsen/TAM ratings. Sony has lost its brief advantage over Star Plus, but the channel seems determined to stick by serials like Hubahu, its offering for a `mature' audience. The bold theme of this programme, where two sisters exchange their lives, has drawn some flak, as has a kissing scene which was the first such clinch on the small screen since the days of Zee's Tara. With saas-bahu serials churning out regressive claptrap disguised as `family values', and a steady diet of violence and sex being available on other satellite channels for anyone who cares to surf, should a single smooch raise so many eyebrows?
