IF THERE has been a dearth of fresh, interesting fare on the Kannada small-screen, the answer possibly lies in the determined insularity of the film and television industry in Bangalore whose strings are inevitably pulled by a prominent and all-powerful film family. It is high time cross-cultural currents blew into this State, at least from the neighbouring southern ones!
