ANTI-HERO: Sanjay Dutt in `Khalnayak.'
HE HAS been hailed as the Showman of Bollywood. Subhash Ghai — the name is synonymous with larger-than-life characters and blockbusters such as Karma, Khalnayak and Saudagar.
Ghai fans now have a golden opportunity of watching some of his films, sitting in the cosy comfort of their living rooms.
Sony TV presents "The Dream Merchant — A Subhash Ghai Film Festival", which will feature some of the director's best works to date.
Not just that, each film to be telecast will be preceded by half-hour specials on the making of the film with interviews with the stars and the director.
As for the schedule, on June 13, 8.00 p.m., watch the Making of Khalnayak, the Sanjay Dutt-Madhuri Dixit starrer, followed by the film on June 15, 8.00 p.m.
It's the turn of the Shah Rukh Khan-Mahima Chaudhuri starrer, Pardes, on June 20, 8.00 p.m. (the making... ) and June 22, 8.00 p.m. (the film).
COMING HOME: Shah Rukh Khan in `Pardes.'
The Making of Karma, a multi-star cast headed by Dilip Kumar, is on June 27, 8.00 p.m. The film will be telecast on June 29, 8.00 p.m.
Manisha Koirala's debut Saudagar with legends Dilip Kumar and Raaj Kumar is on July 4, 8.00 p.m. (the making... ) and July 6, 8.00 p.m.
The last in the series is the more recent Yaadein, with teenage heart-throb Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor and Jackie Shroff. The Making... is to be telecast on July 11, 8.00 p.m. while the film's on July 13, 8.00 p.m.
