They dance to Megha's tunes
Friday evening belonged to Megha; she made the guys and gals of the city dance to the creativity of her nimble fingers.
The only female disc jockey (DJ) of the country, she was in Vizag for the `Music and Dance Nite' organised by Achievers at Green Park in aid of the Helen Keller Memorial Association for the Visually Handicapped.
The chic from Mumbai gave the local youngsters a sizzling taste of funky music and lighting. She covered almost all the hottest numbers, from Kylie Minogue to Dil Chahta Hai, in tune with the mood of the crowd. The crowd went bonkers when she played the famous Telugu hit `Gajuwaka pilla'.
Though the show started off at half past eight in the evening with a small gathering, the hall was full within an hour.
The myriad gathering danced and danced merrily, and by the time they staggered home it was midnight.
Megha, a Femina Miss India finalist and winner of Femina Miss Talent award for her DJing in 2001, is also a professional model. Music, which was her hobby, became a passion and she stormed the male bastion of DJs very soon.
Starting her career at the disco at Taj, she is now with the Mikanos, the hottest discotheque in Mumbai.
She is also free lancing and has performed in Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Indore and in a few centres in Sri Lanka and Dhaka.
She will be remembered by the juveniles of the city for her stunning performance that was laced with her charm all through.
The organisers handed over a cheque for Rs. 5000 to the representative of the Helen Keller Memorial Association, before the start of the show.
