Life after 'Friends'

THE FINANCIAL security provided by the nine seasons of 'Friends' seems to have given its stars the opportunity to work for the love of it in the future. Matt LeBlanc, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer are the charmed sextet who enjoyed such a run of popularity with 'Friends'.

Matthew Perry has triumphed over his addiction-related problems and secured a two-film contract with Paramount Pictures. His film 'Serving Sara' opposite Elizabeth Hurley is also ready for release.

Jennifer Aniston has been very successful in the crossover from TV to films. She has been noticed in small independent films like 'The Good Girl', and seems to have taken the cue to work in smaller films from another 'Friends' co-star, Lisa Kudrow, who began the trend by signing on 'The Opposite of Sex' about a single woman, in 1999.

David Schwimmer has revived his earlier interest in theatre and set up his own theatre production company. Matt LeBlanc has taken the brave step of working in a war film for which, in the last season of' Friends', he commuted every week between East Europe, where 'All The Queen's Men' was being shot, and the United States.

The most successful 'Friends' star in big-studio Hollywood films, Courteney Cox starred with Jim Carrey in 'Ace Ventura', and featured in 'Scream' as well as its sequel' Scream 2'. However, now even Ms. Cox has chosen to go the small independent film route with ' The Secret Life of Daltry Calhoun', a dark comedy being directed by novice director Katrina Bronson.
