Drive to Disaster - Pollution on city roads

Pollutants

POLLUTANTS occur naturally as well as due to human activity. Vehicles are accumulating in cities and not making people to live healthily and peacefully. We are suffering a lot in heat and accidents, becoming very difficult to get rid of that. Exposure to acute inhalation of benzene is said to cause drowsiness, dizziness, head aches and unconsciousness. On the sulphur content of diesel, the particulate matter along with sulphur dioxide enter the lungs, it causes irritation, exacerbates asthma, bronchitis coughing and impairs lung function. So vehicular pollution is sought to be controlled through progressive tightening of emission norms for new vehicles and introduction of cleaner fuels.
