Drive to Disaster - Pollution on city roads

Stagnation of sewage drains

THE above picture is ample proof to the kind of conditions that are prevalent in front of the Shree Jethmal Tikamchand Jain Mission Higher Secondary and Primary Schools located in Sowcarpet area. Our staff are around 60 and we have more than 1000 children studying in this school.

The stagnation of sewage and drainage water in front of the school emanates a horrible stench and the students, teachers and the public have to tread this unhygienic path. During rains, the situation is even more pathetic.

Will the Corporation of Chennai atleast now come to our rescue and ward off the health menace that we are exposed to since several years?

Naresh Kumar
Principal,
JTC Jain Mission School
