TELUGU

Nee Sneham... Aditya Music... Rs. 38

IF YOU can picturise the visuals behind the lyrics Chinuku tadiki chiguru todugu puvvamma, Veyikannulatho lechi choostunna terachaatu daati cherada nee sneham or Ila choodu aracheta vaalindi aakaasam, without much effort, then the lyricist's job is half-done. As expected, Sirivennela Sitaramasastry succeeds in wooing your hearts. These songs are just a few samples of the standard of content in the album. R.P. Patnaik's music, for a change, is different and suits Sirivennela's beautiful lyrics without sounding routine. Nice album worth the 30-odd rupees you spend on it.

Bobby... Supreme... Rs. 38

THE ALBUM kicks off on a patriotic note with Ee jenda pasi bosi chirunavvura... vandemataram palike prati taram song, which is quite good. Va va re va is one of those rustic kind of bawdy numbers. The other songs just follow suit. However, the opening song just lifts your spirits enough to be able to bear the double entendres in the other songs. Lokam peeke narakali petrol posi kaalachali reminds you of songs in films like Premadesam, Anjali, Bharateeyudu, etc, not only because of its tunes but also due to its (meaningless?) lyrics which are loaded with the present-day computer terminology. The flip side has songs like Pullani pullattu, Adugadugu and Lalu darwaja (no, it is no way close to the Vijayashanti's dance number in the Nineties' film Mondi Mogudu Penki Pellam). Manisarma's music is attractive but the album, on the whole, is just about okay.
