IF YOU are looking for an one-stop joint for pashmina shawls and stoles, exquisite silverware, fashion accessories and curios, then the just-opened Silk `n' Silver in South Delhi is the place to visit.
The store has a dazzling array of enchanting silver smith workmanship in candelabrums, photo frames, dinner sets, bar accessories and bowls - all made in sterling silver. The most interesting items of merchandise at the store are shawls and stoles by Le Pashmina. Starting from Rs. 2,000 onwards, the Le Pashmina range of shawls adoring the shelves boast of top designer tags like Kenneth Cole, E.Lecleric, Collection XIIX, Century 21 and top-of-the-retail chains like J.C.Penny. Available in a spectrum of exhilarating colours, the shawls can be procured in both complete pashmina and half pashmina, inter woven in purest silk.
Inaugurated on October 28, the Greater Kailash-stationed store is the brainchild of Deepti and Rakesh Gupta.
For both men and women, the shop has 100 per cent cashmere scarves, sheer shawls and herring bone yarn dyed shawls. Also up-for-grabs are neckties and cravettes in silk pashmina for men.
Another silver lining is that the store has silverware of Schwerien label designed by Sylvo R. Schroeder, the Chief Executive Officer of Noida-based Jewellery Design and Technology Institute, along with his better half, Bhavna. Elaborating on his wares, Schroeder says, "We are selling watches from Rs. 5,000 to 18,000. These watches are hand crafted with 18-carat yellow and white gold. Jewellery is being sold from Rs. 4,000 to 32,000." He first settled down in Chennai in 1992 and stayed there for two years. During this period, he says, he started designing jewellery items, which were exported to European countries.
Bhavna Schroeder says, "The stones which we are using are rubies, emerald and sapphire. White gold is being brought from Germany while stones are bought from Jaipur."
So even if you are not a collector of pashmina, Silk `n' Silver has a wide assortment of items which will make your drawing room look real plush.
