Celebrity wedding with commercial breaks

IF YOU thought weddings in Kerala began and ended in a jiffy, you are about to learn something different. In a `never before' event, the TV rights for the impending wedding of Samyuktha Varma and Biju Menon on November 21 at Trichur are being sold!

The first wedding in filmdom, which will be telecast live, has channels trying to snag the telecast rights notwithstanding the fact that the celebrity couple has quoted an astronomical price! The hunt for sponsors is also on!

And there is more! The telecast of the wedding will be like any other regular TV programme with ad breaks et al.

Now several questions have cropped up — which company will sponsor the sacred ceremony of `tying of the thali' and will the couple guarantee the participation of other film stars to boost the glamour element? It seems as if weddings too will soon turn into events that you can enjoy in the comfort of your home.
