Time to talk
HOPE IS what happens with the first buds of spring
When dawn touches the sky or a bird first spreads it's wing.
Have you ever had sleepless nights? How many times have you gone to bed, worried about something, unable to sleep and rising tired? Or, have you quietly escaped into the world of your dreams and things seemed a little brighter when you awoke with a new perspective?
Sleep is a potent healer and in its absence, the tiredness that creeps through our waking moments becomes debilitating and we simply want more sleep to escape the humdrum of everyday living. If we ever get to the stage of not wanting to get out of bed for days in a row, even though physically healthy, it could mean we are heading towards depression. I don't just refer to that "down in the dumps'' feeling that everyone experiences from time to time. But, if weeks, or months of lethargy, means it's time to tackle the problems and talk to someone about it.
However, if you're having a bad time and feel that every time you try to spread your wings someone else clips them - take some consolation that you're not alone. If you feel the trees you've planted or the groundwork you've laid in your work or relationships have not yet borne fruit - don't despair. Maybe you need to cultivate those aspirations in a slightly different way or look at the nutrients in a different field.
At this moment, you may not be in the job of your dreams or with the partner of your dreams, but that's still no excuse to lose sight of your dreams - and feel sorry for yourself. It's time to plant your own seeds of hope and not rely on anyone else to do so for you.
Because, each dawn of a new day symbolises hope. Out of darkness comes light. The first buds of spring need the restful fallow of winter and the baby bird needs that embryonic time in the egg and nest before it's ready to spread it's own wings.
Are you ready to spread your wings and fly into life? If not, what's stopping you? We grow inwardly by looking outwardly. And, grow outwardly by looking inwardly. Emotional and spiritual growth blossoms. Are you exposed to intellectual and emotional nourishment? Or, do you poison your path of continuous growth with noxious weeds of worry to waste your all-too-precious time on this planet.
When dawn touches the sky tomorrow, it won't mean that your troubles evaporated in the night air, but, it does mean that the first thing to do is to be thankful that you've awoken to a new day. Then, wake up to yourself and your potential, in the full knowledge that:
Hope is what happens with the first buds of spring
When dawn touches the sky or a bird first spreads it's wing.
Keep hope happening!
