Sesame Street in India

IN A development, which is really a welcome one for kids, it seems as if the top-rated American kiddies' show "Sesame Street" will have an Indian version. Sesame Workshop is the New York based non-profit organisation responsible for the conceptualisation and production of "Sesame Street", on air since 1969.

Sean Love, business development manager, Sesame Workshop, said that it will take a year to 18 months to develop a model specific to Indian requirements. Sesame Street has received the most Emmys in TV history and studies have revealed that teens who watched the show, excelled in many ways and expressed less aggressive attitudes than those who did not watch it.
