Book fair held
A book fair was organised by the Regional Library, Dwarakanagar as part of the on-going Library Week celebrations. Inaugurating the fair, Head of the AU Department of Library Science, R.S.R. Varalakshmi, briefed about the importance of public libraries. She felt that the Internet could only provide supplementary source of information but never replace libraries.
Writer Muddamsetty Hanumantha Rao said that a vast majority of the people were still depending on public libraries for information and underlined the need for strengthening them. Incharge librarian of AU, C. Sashikala, called for improving the amenities at the Regional Library.
Later, the National AIDS Committee member, Kootikuppala Surya Rao, conducted a slide show on AIDS awareness. He clarified the doubts of the participants on the subject.
