Ravishing roses

GROWING ROSES in Chennai is no longer a formidable task. The Cottage Garden on East Coast Road offers a large variety of indoor and outdoor plants, with special focus on roses.

The Cottage Garden will be holding a sale of its roses and other exotic plants at The Best Seller Hall, 43/1 Besant Avenue Road, Adyar on January 25, 26 and 27.

The nursery brings roses from Bangalore and transplants them. Only plants that withstand the change in climate are put on sale. These acclimatised roses are perfectly suited to Chennai environment and include button, hardy shrub type, miniature and hybrid roses in a variety of colours from orange, pink and red, yellow, white and peach.

The nursery also has several unique plants such as adenium, starlite, percuria and cycas apart from the usual marigolds, asters, flowering plants, foliage plants, succulents, border plants, shrubs, climbers and ground cover plants. Also on display are varieties of palm and bamboo.

The Cottage Garden is located at 14, Kudumiyandi Thoppu, East Coast Road, Panaiyur. Ph: 24462879 or 24466524.
