Nandita calls the shots!

RAIN WATER harvesting has always had frantic campaigns, but this time round, it is a dusky film star who is behind the camera to get the message across! Nandita Das and ad-filmmaker husband Saumya Sen have just completed a combined effort of directing a 90-second spot on the fruitfulness of conserving the droplets from the sky.

Produced by Leapfrog, their communication organisation that focusses on pressing issues in society, every frame in the spot is said to be pregnant with lively messages, giving the audience a taste of the talented couple's penchant for aesthetics, entwined with a socially relevant issue.

The short film, to be screened at theatres and on TV, is the first in their bag of ideas to showcase their creative edge. Now isn't that some commitment with a humble beginning too, as the docu-spot sans even the credit titles rolling on the screen?
