Path to peace

THE PRAJAPITA Brahma Kumaris Ishwarya Vishwa Vidyalaya organised an evening of spirituality at the Marina recently. More than a lakh people gathered at the venue, which started off with a concert by M.S. Viswanathan and music director Gangai Amaran.

Three Tamil boks, "Manathai Vellungal", Vetriyin Pathayil" and "Arogya Vazhvu" were released by Rajayogini Dada Hridaymohiniji of the Brahma Kumaris. Rajayogini Dadi Prakashmani explained that the path to peace lies in self-realisation and realisation of God. Practising meditation for a couple of hour's everyday could help solve daily problems, she said. She gave a demonstration of this by leading the crowd through a one-minute meditation.

Dadi Janaki said that ego and anger cause sorrow and chaos, adding that the purity leads to peace and peace to love.

Dadi Hirdaymohini said that sadness was an indication of one of the vices — lust, greed, anger, attachment or ego. She told the crowd to stop listening to lectures that exhorted them to be good and instead practice what has been preached.
