Bollywood stalemate

THE ONGOING war between producers and distributors in Bollywood over satellite rights continues. The distributors are crying foul over producers selling their satellite rights weeks after a film is released. Recently "Devdas" was telecast 10 months after its release and "Chura Liya Hai Tumne" was shown on TV less than 40 days after its premiere! Traditionally during the summer holidays, box-office collections take a big leap.

But this year, all the biggies lined up for May and June such as "Bhoot", "Chalte Chalte", "Armaan" and "Main Prem Diwani Hoon" are all likely to be indefinitely delayed.

With new releases now being put off, what will the cinemas play now in the peak season?
