Testing times
IT IS often said and without reason that adversity is the true test of a superstar's character. Vijay has been on a slide for the past one year, as his films have not being doing well at the box-office. And now the star is keeping his fingers crossed as his latest film "Geethai" is releasing this Friday.
The film is already in the news as some Hindu fundamentalist organisations had laid pressure on the censor board and on the producer `Viswaas' Sundar, who had to change the title from "Geethai" to "Puthiya Geethai".
"Puthiya Geethai" promises to be a family entertainer. The simple storyline is about Sarathy a do-gooder with some hidden power to bring happiness to everybody he comes across.
He is an optimistic, hard working young man and the film has a strong message for the youth of today. Along with Vijay are Amisha Patel who makes her debut in Tamil, Meera Jasmine and Kalabhavan Mani who has done a brilliant job as the villain.
Producer Sundar has distributed the film himself worldwide.
