SIP IT hot or cold, the rich taste of coffee remains. This indeed is good news to tired tongues. Come up recently at the NSR Road, the one stop Fresh and Honest (F&H) coffee shop serves just about anything in coffee. Not the usual teashop way. They do it stylishly and in the most pleasing way
F&H, a member of Sterling Group, strongly believes that "honesty" pays. By honesty they mean quality and freshness of the product. "We are very strict about our freshness index. The real strength of fresh coffee is in the raw materials you use. We actually deal with imported coffee vending machines from Switzerland. The machine makes coffee as at home.
" It's the microprocessor controller that does the entire job. The machine is programmed as per the books. Coffee beans, pasteurised milk blended and whipped with a spoonful of sugar gives you a rich cup of traditional filter coffee," says Jaswanth Thomas, its Product Manager.
He adds that there are 1,500 such machines all over India and that this is the first of its kind in the city.
"Coimbatore is a business friendly place. There is a big bunch of coffee drinkers and so we thought it would be good to give them more of coffee. We are able to give the best mainly because the beans, which are roasted and valve-packed, come directly from the roasting plant in Chennai. The beans are used on the machine, which is tuned to suit every taste."
Even the sugar is not touched. It is not pre-mixed. Equal or diet free sugar is available as an addition. The shop serves coffee in disposable paper cups, which are eco-friendly.
"We have priced our coffee to suit the common man. We want everybody to enjoy a sip, right from a cart-puller to an owner of a luxury car. Our aim is to reach the masses," relates Thomas.
Besides hot coffee, the shop has a wide variety of cold coffee, hot and cold Swiss chocolates, vegetable soups (imported cubes) and sell even coffee powders.
"We even serve tea. We drain the milk and hot water (filtered) from the vending machine and use the dip tea bags to serve our customers. To provide a change, the shop also has spice teas," states Thomas.
"The response from the public is very good. We have had repeat customers. It goes to show that they like the taste and want more of it," he adds.
