Fusion album

THE INDI-pop scene has invariably seen new singers emerging.

While some have stood the test of time, others have faded away. But the determination to arrive on the scene is present in many.

The latest entrant is Xenia (actually named Zenia after the flower) Ali, a cousin of Lucky Ali. Meri Ada is her album launched recently.

Endowed with good looks and voice, Xenia has not just showcased her singing but written a few songs as well for the album.

Another cousin Raju Ali has scored the music. Trained in Hindustani music, Xenia grew up in a musical atmosphere and is now honing her classical skills further under Pandit Rishabh Bhatt.

Xenia considers Asha Bhosle as her style guru. Let's wait and watch if she is able to sing away to the top.

G. MANJULA KUMAR
