The new superhero

INSTEAD OF just getting `inspired' by Hollywood films, the Bollywood filmmakers are also trying to cram their films with special effects. The recent hits with special effects are "Bhoot" where Rekha walks through a ghost child, "Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon" in which the digitally created parrot talks and "Hawa" in which Tabu gets raped by an unknown element.

Even the trailers on the Net are slick with awesome special effects and computer generated thrills. You are in for a shock if you see the special site of a Ramgopal Varma produced film, "Darna Mana Hai" where the screen goes blank, followed by a kaleidoscope of characters popping up, and just when you think that your computer has crashed the website opens! In Hrithik Roshan's next release, "Koi Mil Gaya" a computer-generated extra-terrestrial will keep him company. Anil Kapoor is making a futuristic cop movie set in the year 2050 (suspiciously similar to "Robocop") and directed by Anurag Kashyap in which special effects will play a major role. Today with a keypad and a mouse, you can create the new superhero of Bollywood!
