New-look hotel
AS TIMES change, things have to change to catch up with modern thinking and that is what has happened to the Pandyan Hotel.
When new hotels started mushrooming in the northern part of the city, Pandyan remained the same for long.
But the authorities thought it is high time that they give a facelift to the hotel. Hence, the idea of refurbishing and remodelling the hotel started taking shape.
At the same time, the Fortune Park Hotels Limited by Welcome Group, a subsidiary of the ITC Hotels Limited, was on their vigorous expansion spree, looking for a suitable place to open their chain here.
With the corporate giant and the Pandyan Hotel coming together, they agreed to set up the new-look hotel, rechristened Fortune Pandiyan Hotel.
Now, the Fortune Pandiyan Hotel adds up to the prestigious chain of mid-price, first class, full service hotels situated at the strategic locations in the country.
The chain has a presence at two more strategic locations in the south apart from Madurai, Tirupati and Hyderabad.
" The chain is on a vigorous expansion spree and will be adding more hotels to its present tally of 12 within the next 18 months- thus creating a brand presence of four more prominent locations in India," said Mandeep S. Lamba, President, Fourtune Park Hotels.
This newly renovated Fortune Pandiyan Hotels is set amidst three acres of gardens.
The Fortune at Madurai has 57 well-appointed rooms, including 48 standard rooms, 6 Fortune Club rooms and three suites.
The hotel also has a variety of restaurants to serve the cuisine of the visitors' choice, Orchid, a multi-cuisine restaurant, the Silver Springs, a restaurant serving delectable south Indian cuisine, the Ranch, a bar and Fortune Cookies, the Pastry Shop.
Besides, the hotel possesses two banquet halls with a capacity to accommodate upto 200 and 450 persons.
A conference room for smaller meetings/get-together.
A spacious lawn, with a capacity to hold 550 persons, is available to hold large gatherings.
Conference facilities like audio-visual equipment and secretarial services.
Also the hotel has a fully-equipped business centre to guide the customers.
