Costly mistakes

NOTHING SEEMS to have gone well with Sooraj Barjatya's Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon. Not a typical Barjatya film, its struggle at the box-office can be attributed to more than one reason. Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor have been criticised for over-acting, music has been average, Barjatya's obsession with the name "Prem" was sniggered at, the foreign locales cost the producer the sky, and the storyline itself was a drag. And one more mistake, people point out, is the mix-up in casting. Hrithik (Prem Kishen) is talkative and jubilant, whereas Abhishek (Prem Mathur) is an introvert yet successful in business. But in real life, they are quite the opposite as people make them out to be. Even while we know that acting means portraying something that is not real, the casting has done more damage to MPKDH.
