Time to go shopping

The Craft Council of Andhra Pradesh is organising a fund raising sale, Aakruti Vastra from Jyly 14 to 17 at Chalasani Venkateshwara Rao Hall, Kamma Sangham, Ameerpet.

The exhibition will have weavers from almost every state form India. The items include Shibori - Japanese tie and dye, kotas from Rajasthan, ikkats from Orissa, Benaras saris, bandhini, Lucknowi chikankari work, Bengal cottons, Ajarakh prints from Gujarat, Coimbatore, Pune and Dharwad saris. In order to attract the younger generation items such as stoles, scarves, kurtis and ponchos have been included.

Also available are Kornad and Chettinad saris, ready to wear designer blouses, eco-friendly garments using vegetable dye and natural dyes and exclusive linen clothing.

Every purchase made at this exhibition will go for the benefit of craftsmen and contribute towards their development.
