Kolkata comes calling

A display of workmanship from Bengal


Bengal has always been a cradle of art and Bengalis are known for their skilled workmanship be it painting, embroidery or printing.

Here is your chance to take a part of their exquisite handwork home as The Golden Window plays host to some of the renowned boutiques of Kolkata, Kalakriti, Sujata and Soni Seth.

Cotton and silk tussars in unusual colours, block printed and discharge printed, delicate Dhakais and a range of other textiles in natural fibres will be on display.

Sarees, fabrics and salwar kameez materials are available in mutka silks, munga, Chanderi, Dupione, cotton, etc. also on display are embroidered saris created by skilled artisans of Kolkata. Each sari is one of its kind. Orders for saris may also be placed at The Golden Window.

The exhibition is on from July 20 between 10 a.m. and 7.30 p.m. For details contact 4350580.
