VARIETY FARE Plum-based desserts at Chola Sheraton
Cashing in on the eating out trend, various restaurants across the city have come up with food festivals to tantalise your taste buds.
If you have a sweet tooth, then check out the Divine Desserts fest at Café Mercara, Chola Sheraton. Here, plum takes centre stage and the desserts are plum-based like classical Italian zabaglione, plum madalliene torte, baked plum tarts and flaky chocolate and plum roulade. The festival on till July 31, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Call 28110101 for details.
Oriental delights
Aahar, the Residency, T. Nagar, is hosting an Oriental Food Festival till July 30, where food buffs can sample cuisines from Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and China. The buffet spread includes vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes Thai Phak Manow, delight pot (a combination of diced vegetables, tofu and mushrooms in sweet and spicy sauce) and kumpao fried rice, chicken manchow soup, Singapore prawns, fish Penang and Chinese kung pao lamb. For desserts, there are the exotic kung pow sweet cake, honey noodles with ice cream, banana fritters and date coconut pancakes.
The buffet comes at Rs. 290 per person and is open for lunch (12.30 p.m.-3 p.m.) and dinner (7.30 p.m.-11.30 p.m.).

Spicy affair
Seasons, the restaurant at The Accord Metropolitan, G.N. Chetty Road, T. Nagar, has come up with a promotion called `A Celebration of Spices.' At this dinner buffet, one can savour the choicest of South Indian dishes, all cooked with a variety of spices. The fest is on till July 30 between 7.30 p.m. and 11 p.m. Call 28161000 for reservations.

Le Royal Meridien is hosting a Malabar food festival at Navratna and a `Four Nation' food festival at Cilantro, till July 23, 7 p.m.-11.30 p.m. Call 22314343 for reservations.
Flavours from Rajasthan
A Rajasthani food festival is on at Rendezvous, Hotel Quality Inn Sabari, 29, Thirumalai Pillai Road, T. Nagar, till July 23, 7 p.m. onwards. Tangy lime juice to Rabidi, the sweet sour soup, to Mewar sweets, the dishes lend an authenticity to the festival. They are specially prepared in mud pots by chefs flown in from the desert State.
