Nineteen ways to appreciate art
|
Drawings of 19 artists from the city are up for grabs
|
A few well-known artists from Hyderabad and many more talented ones have put up their drawings on display in the city. This collection, at the Lakshana Art Gallery consisted solely of drawings by 19 artists. You had line sketches, sketches done using crayons and even one done using acrylic on acrylic. Some made use of mixed media, but they are all drawings and they all speak of real talent.
Sanjay Astaputra's sketches titled `Horses' were well detailed. These drawings had soft yet clear lines that focussed on horses and a couple of unidentifiable portraits of people were in them too.
Fawad Tamkanat's illustrations of `My Women,' was a series of 4, depicting women with well-structured features.
Laxman Aelay's drawings don't need much description. His work speaks for itself and the sketches were neat, like printed lithographs. Sajid-Bin-Amar had two sketches of pencil on paper and Pramod Kumar Reddy and Narendranath. K's `Pen and Ink' collection looked very promising.
Narendranath's works had clean strokes and lovely detailed rustic backgrounds.
Other talented artists whose works were on display included Kavitha Deuskar and Srinivas Reddy. Srinivas Reddy's collection of sketches, two of a woman, one of a man and another of a woman's back were unique too.
These were more along the lines of line drawings. Bairu Raghuram's large sketch of a woman outside her hut was meticulously done.
Other artists whose works you can see at the gallery include Anjani Reddy, Asha Radhika, Archana, Gowri, B. Padma Reddy, A. Rajeshwar Rao, Srikanth Kurve, Sri Murugan and Srinivas Chari.
The 33 works on display are for sale as well.
