Crafts mela

A handicrafts and handlooms exhibition is on at the Community Hall, 30, C. P. Ramaswamy Road, Alwarpet, till August 16, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

On display are an arresting range of artefacts from different States — sheesham wood articles from Saharanpur, terracotta pieces and patta paintings from Kolkata, patachitra paintings and palm leaf engravings, salwar kurtas and saris with chikan work from Lucknow, Pochampalli and Orissa saris, bed sheets and bedspreads from Rajasthan,, fruit bowls, bangles from Jaipur and rudraksha.

Discounts of 10 per cent on handicrafts and 20 per cent on handlooms are being offered.
