Styles of the season

Of Vimonisha's Private Collection from today

Vimonisha Gallery will see the coming together of designers from across the country at an exhibition of its Private Collection. The exhibition opens today at 12, Khader Nawaz Khan Road, Nungambakkam, and concludes on August 19.

Designer duo Suchita-Namita is back with the collection of embroidered salwar suits. The colour palette ranges from lime green, saffron, canary yellow and fuchsia to peach. The silhouettes have lines and cuts that flatter the Indian woman's figure. Kalakriti, the design house from Kolkata, brings hand block printed garments and fine embroidery. The range consists of salwar suits, kurtis in voile, jute, cotton and Bhagalpuri silk. Embellishments in gold and silver lend a formal touch to the prints.

Fusion by Mamata Udupa from Bangalore has a mix of wrap arounds, capris with ethnic patches, painted gowns, churidhars and skirts in a striking palette of orange, pink, aqua and green that contrast with muted earth and natural tones.

SheCentric brings a collection of designer saris and formal and casual salwar suits in a wide range of fabrics and prints. To complete the collection is the Mulberry range of bed and table linen.

Besides, there is a selection of designer watches, crepe kurtis, fabrics and suits from Manju's Collection.

Those looking for stitched suits and fabrics can choose from the range displayed by Yashika or Sree Vani Creations. Pallava Sarees also adds variety with its collection of printed and embroidered saris.

One G showcases costume and designer jewellery in pure silver and semi precious stones. It is introducing a new line of linen and cotton clothes for women and men.
