CONNECTIONS The bazaar is a celebration linking nature and craft
Dastkar, the Society for Crafts and Craftspeople, is back with its annual Nature Bazaar. The theme for this year is Wind and Water. There are 100 different crafts skills and traditions to look forward to. "Nature Bazaar is a celebration, linking nature and craft, tradition and change, ancient skills and innovative new solution," say the organisers.
Dastkar is a non-profit organisation committed to breaking barriers that separate craftspeople from mainstream urban markets, reviving and revitalising both crafts and the community.
Apart from crafts items, you can look forward to organic food and cereals, herbal medicines, soaps, handmade paper besides getting to watch performances by folk musicians and dancers from Rajasthan, Delhi and Madhya Pradesh. The fair will also include interactive workshops and demonstrations on crafts along with puppet shows.
The sale is on from August 24 to September 2 at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, Kumara Krupa Road, between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.
