CO-ordinated Green on the eye lids suits Asian skin the best

All year you ate junk food, drank immensely and partied every night… and finally you realised that you are out of shape and look worse than a couch potato. It is time to get back to shape and set the perfect exercise regimen for the next few we eks and hopefully thereafter. Fitness expert Jalaja Suri, chalks out couple of exercises which will help you get back to shape by New Year’s Eve.

Warm up is the first and an essential segment in any exercise regime that must never be ignored. Simple neck roles from side to side and in up and down motion releases all the neck muscles. Rotating the shoulders in an in-and-out motion, helps to increase flexibility. Stretching the upper part of the body and inner thigh helps in easy movement of muscles. Also remember one must not go wrong while breathing, as it can take a toll on your health. A simple jog or march on the spot is also an easy method to warm up. Devote a minimum of 10 minutes to warm up your body.

Start with five to ten minutes of warm up exercises using light-medium weights. Kick start with one or two exercises for each muscle group in the upper body and three to four moves for the lower body. Practice overhead press, lateral raise and front raise to work out the shoulders. Yoga essentially helps your body achieve stability, balance, good postures, toning and weight loss. Regular practice improves strength, flexibility and also helps in easy digestion. Surya Namaskar is a complete stretch exercise. Surya Namaskar is a combination of few yogasana postures. After the completion of every exercise regime, a cool down is very necessary. The cool down process helps to bring the heart beat back to normal. The best way to cool down is by lying down on a mat. Stretch your hands and legs.

Rotate your hands inwards and outwards, open and close your fingers couple of times and also rotate your feet clockwise and anti clock wise. Close your eyes and relax for few minutes. With rigorous exercise, healthy eating is also necessary. Eat lots of vegetables, fruits, juices and liquids through out the day. Dieting is not really advisable as it can cause acidity and weakness. Substitute rotis or chapattis instead of rice. To go with that perfect body you need the right look.

Make up for this winter is colourful and glossy. After a cleaning, toning and moisturising routine, massage a small quantity of metallic cream on your face. Use a well branded foundation that will blend well with your skin, making you look natural. The metallic cream enhances the glow of your skin and also allows the make up to stay for long.

For the eye lids green rules this New Year. It suits Asian skin the best. Bright colours like red, fuchsia and black can be well co-coordinated with any dress and accessory. Those with almond shaped eyes can experiment with a lot of colours, while big round eyes can experiment with subtle colours, which look neat and glamorous. Finally, those with deep set eyes can use a lot of bright colours and shinny highlights can be worn. Thick mascara completes your eye makeup making it look perfect. Well-defined glossy lips are in this season. Bright flashy lips like sheer red, black, glossy pinks, lilac are ruling this winter. Co-ordinating your eye colour with the shade of your eye shadow is always preferable. A lip liner is also a must as it acts as a corrective device, and bans the lip colour from bleeding out of the lip line. Nudes and pastel shades can also be used only if the eyes are highlighted.

Since your face is already shinning because of the metallic cream and the foundation, colours like peach, pinks, red, creamy and bronze blushes brings a fresh and natural look. Since the eyes or the lips are always highlighted, the cheeks can remain soft and tender.

With a fit body and a bright face, you’re all ready to set the New Year aflame.
