Finding the funniest

A channel for the youth, Bindass, has recently announced a new show, Hass Ley India Comedy Gang War. It is a live show where the winner gets a chance to act in a comedy made by UTV Motion Pictures.

The show, starting on January 31, will be judged by actor-anchor Shekhar Suman and theatre personality Makarand Deshpande. From next week, a Bindass team will travel through Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmadabad, Kolkata and Lucknow for auditions. At the auditions, the comedy gang, comprising of two to five people, will have to perform a humorous skit of three minutes for the jury.

Followed by a preliminary and a final round, one gang will be selected from each city. These five teams will compete for the finals in Mumbai, to be held over a period of five weeks.

The topics will be given at random. Every week will see elimination of one team through audience and jury votes until the winner is announced.

Zarina Mehta, Senior Creative Director, UTV, says, “We are looking for a gang of comedians and not a single individual because the spontaneous energy and the joy of being young come out as a gang.”
