Quest

A dark life

Here comes a child labourer,
Who works hard
To make his daily fortune.
How sad is his face,
Carrying a sack of maize,
And gets tired after a little work.
He carries a load of stones,
On his shoulder made of only bones.
His face so thin and black,
He works in all seasons,
To get some money to eat food,
His hands and his lungs are very weak.
Here comes the poor child, weak and ill,
On a cold day when the ground is chill.
He works on a hot day and his legs get burnt;
Tears roll down his eyes,
He goes home during the night to lie down in peace.
