Conserve water

It is well known to all of us that food, water and oxygen are available only on earth. Our earth is also known as the blue planet. It is the mother of all life. Nearly ¾ of the earth is covered with water. Yet, we still face water problems.

We need water for all kinds of purposes. There are so many lakes, ponds and rivers in the world. These water resources that are available now may not serve the coming generations. So there is a great need to conserve water.

In India, most of the population depends on agriculture. Water is essential for agriculture, as we are not sure of timely monsoons. Due to the failure of monsoons, drought conditions many occur. If water is saved and used for agriculture we will not face such a bad situation.

Drip irrigation is a method by which farmers can use water till the last drop. We can conserve underground water by constructing dams, watersheds and tanks.

We can save low lying areas during rains. This water problem is not someone else's. It is a problem related to the whole world. If not today, tomorrow, each and every country will have to face this problem.

So finally what I would like to say is that this is our problem and we should solve it on a war footing. There is a saying: "Think globally and act locally". So from now on try to conserve water from being wasted.
