Magic with numbers

Want to surprise your friends? Here's a good way to do it.

Ask a friend to think of a number. Ask him to add the next higher number. Then ask him to add 13 and divide the result by two.

Then he has to subtract the original number from the total answer.

When he finishes, say that you will tell him the answer. It will be seven.
