Thrills at the book fair
One can acquire knowledge from books. We had a book fair at Chennai from January 5-19. Our teachers took us to the book fair after finishing our exams. There were nearly about 100 students and we were taken in three batches by van.
The Book fair was organised by leading publishers. There were around 200 stalls. There were many varieties of books like fiction, novels, religion, G.K. books, which cost from Rs. 15 to Rs. 50.
The books that had information like flags of various countries, physics and chemistry formulae were the main attraction for us.
There were also many books that taught magic. There were also dictionaries of various sizes essay and letter writing books, books on inventions and their inventors, books for computer course.
Like these some 22 books were available for just Rs. 2 from the LIFCO Publishers.
An artist was there who could sketch an ordinary man within 20 minutes in an accurate manner for Rs. 100.
While we were there, a television reporter interviewed us about our experiences. It was the first time I appeared on TV. My friends and I were very thrilled over this.
