Call from the deep

From the midst of the deep,
I heard a voice
Of my choice,
Calling for me.
I called back,
But no answer came.
So I returned home.
In the thunder
I heard the voice,
In the gushing storm
It came again.
I could now recognise the voice
It's the call of a true heart,
The call of the wild.
