Quest

A modern odyssey

Who in this life had ever thought of this,
Trapped in a planet, away from his.
Can't go out, `coz you are a prisoner,
That's my story; I wish you will wonder
I was a fighter pilot,
In the year 2055,
Sent to the Ursa Majoris
To find proof of life
I flew through Zero-space,
Where faster than light travel is possible,
The journey of 45 light years,
Completed in 45 minutes.
With me were two lieutenants,
Who were thrilled to be there.
I was no less excited,
Tho' a bit nervous
Just then we saw the Ursa,
Or the great Bear as you say,
Blinding all of us,
Was the sun of the proud solar way.
We landed on the earth-like planet,
And were shocked to see the emptiness.
But that was the mistake we made.
As we did not see the Ursans.
They fell from everywhere.
Like bombs being dropped in war.
They were large, strong and scaly
And the colour darker than tar.
They outnumbered us by thousands,
With Dracon beams in their hands.
And we just three of us,
Held our shredders and stood blank.
We were captured and sent to jail,
After being tried for spying.
And were sentenced for 240 years,
Never to see our families again.
