Quest
Trials of a turtle
Down by the ocean the tide rushes in
It carries a mother, and her journey begins
Crawling across the beach on the sand
The sea turtle struggles, survival at hand.
Out on the water she glides on the swell
But here on the land she can't manage that well.
Over the sand across the four wheeler tracks,
To bury her eggs and then journey back.
A part of land, and a part of sea
They could use a hand, this small family.
Their beach invasion in search of a nest
Nature provides her and she does the rest.
Searching for a place for her babies to bed
Nature has led her, the old lagerhead
Progress and the poachers, they dig up the sand
Survival is tough for the whole turtle clan.
A part of the land and a part of the sea
They could use a hand, this small family
Oh, but the ocean, must seem so far away
As the tide goes back out
And the night turns into pink.
