Quest

A frantic moment

One dull evening after finishing my lessons, I went to bed. I was so drowsy that I felt lazy to remove my gold earring in the shape of a boat.

I dozed into a world of dreams, having pleasant dreams like becoming invisible. I got up much later at 7 a.m. I ran here and there like a whirlwind to get ready for school. Suddenly, I felt uncomfortable and when I touched my ears the earrings were missing. My mind was in a turmoil. If I told my mother, she would spank me followed by a long lecture. I did not want a spank or a lecture. I searched the bed, the bedspreads and the pillows, but to my dismay they weren't there.

Sadly, I went to bathe when in the bathroom I found the earrings on my T-Shirt, tangling on a piece of thread. I carefully removed them and put them on. My happiness knew no bounds.
