Fun at camp
I joined the Bharat Scout and Guides movement in Std. VI. It is a useful movement known worldwide. We can learn discipline, sanitation, cleanliness, punctuality, morality and can gain general knowledge about constellations (group of stars), Compass (finding direction), Mapping, Estimation of the building. They also teach a number of games and songs that are enjoyable.
Camping is a wonderful experience. I have attended nearly 18 camps. The campfire is the hallmark of a camp. Once Baden Powell said, "If you miss to attend a campfire in a camp, then you're missing something in your life."
Wait! I forgot to tell you something. I am a resident of West Mambalam I got excellent training in this Guides movement through Patel group. After excelling in all my subjects, I applied for Rajya puraskar (Governor Award) in 2001 with guidance of my school and my masters. I was trained so well that I was among the first five in the testing camp in August.
Then I applied for Rashtrapathi award (President award) in January 2002. I was awarded Rajya puraskar on April 13, 2002.
My District Secretary and teachers trained me and I successfully finished my testing camp for Rashtrapathi, which is the toughest camp I have ever attended, and it was held from June2 to June 24 in Triplicane. Now I am eagerly looking forward towards the memorable occasion of receiving the highest award from the President of India.
