Peace and non-violence
We are regarded as `Sons of Gandh's Land'. His principles are respected by the entire world even today. But, are we living today up to the standard set to us and expected from us? Gandhi was killed in 1948 and his principles have also been shot dead by our present system.
Today, we feel pride in making atom bombs and allocating more funds to defence. We, students, are advised not to quarrel with others but the Government does not follow the same advice.
When there are many organisations like UNO, which can be our mediators and sort out the issues, why do we not accept it? Are our soldiers killed by the opponents or by our own wrong policies?
War is a `Show of Muscle Power' at the cost of many lives. Let us all say `No To War' and try to bring peace back to the land of Mahatma Gandhi.
While I write this, I feel ashamed of the happenings in Gujarat, the home state of Mahatma Gandhi. The fire of violence is still not put-off in Gujarat. The burnt bogies still continue their evil journey spreading fire everywhere.
India is the origin of Buddhism and Jainism. These have become a part of history for academic interest and to secure high marks in the school examinations.
We even won our freedom by adopting non-violent movements. Why should we lose our confidence in non-violent movements and try to settle the issues of differences at the earliest.
Our tri-colour is flying high though there is some dirt on it. Let us jointly make it clean and uplift our quality.
