Finding oneself

Once there was a man named Arun. He wanted to know whether the life is full of joy or sorrow. So he went to a sage and passed the question, "Oh Holy one, I want to know whether life is enjoyable or it is only full of miseries."

The sage did not reply to his question but gave him an orange and asked him to eat as instructed. Arun bit the fruit without removing the skin. After eating the skin, he said that it was bitter.

Now, the sage told that everyone experiences only the outer part of his life and they say that it is full of miseries. But they never intend seeing their inner conscience and they never recognise the soul. One who recognises the soul will be free from miseries and to him life will be enjoyable. After hearing the words of the sage, Arun was enlightened and become a great saint.
