Camping, army style

The NCC camp for 2002-2003 was held at Triveni Academy for 10 days from July 20-29. We enjoyed the experience. We learnt about obedience and discipline. The main aim of the camp was to make us adjust to surroundings and to bring unity among us.

There were more than 10 schools attending the camp. We made friends with children from other camps. We also learnt to share our things and to help others.

We were given rigorous training in Marchpast and our school secured the first prize. We were also given the first prize for keeping our room and kit neatly. The officers at the camp told us that we were the most disciplined school .

We were taught to rend a map and to use a compass. Our best experience was beingallowed to fire 20 bullets with a real rifle. They also showed us how to extinguish a fire. It was fun to learn of what life is like in the army.
