Dec. 8: India's Sunil Kumar and Chinese Taipei's Chin-Wei Chan claims the boys' and girls' titles in the Asian junior tennis championship in New Delhi. Zimbabwe bowled out for the lowest ever one-day score (38) by Sri Lanka. Also Chaminda Vaas created a world record by claiming eight for 19, (inclusive of a hat-trick). He overcame M. Muralitharan's record. Dec. 10: Ritwik Bhattacharya (Delhi) and Joshna Chinappa (Chennai) emerge the men's and the women's winners in the senior National squash championship at Chennai. Dec. 14: Zhu Chen of China is the new women's champion in the World chess championship at Moscow. Dec. 15: India claims the Champions Challengers Cup hockey tournament at Kuala Lumpur. Dec. 16: Vijay Kannan and Rushmi Chakravarthi clinch the men's and the women's titles respectively in the DSCL National tennis championship at New Delhi.
