Time limit for disposal of cases

NEW DELHI July 1. The Chief Justice of India, B.N. Kirpal, has urged the lawyers and judges all over the country to extend their wholehearted cooperation in the implementation of the Civil Procedure Code Amendments which came into force from today to ensure speedy justice to people.

As per the notifications issued by the Government of India, both the 1999 and 2002 Civil Procedure (Amendment) Acts, it is a strong measure to compress the time frame for disposal of all civil cases within a year.

It is intended to bring relief to the litigants who are waiting for years for the outcome of their cases in courts.
